"Weapon X" was originally presented as a 13-part story, including a prologue, that was published in 8-page installments in "Marvel Comics Presents" issues #72-84 in 1991-92. This was a Marvel title that presented four 8-page stories in each issue (except for the grand finale), some of which were multiple-part sagas and others that were one-shot deals. So while Barry Windsor-Smith was telling the story of "Weapon X" ("Before Wolverine" the first cover tells us), there is a multi-part story featur [...]
I thought this was a good series, short, a little scary and interesting to see Wolverine become something more than an animal who crawled around with the wolves at the start of his life and literally yell his humanity to someone of superior intellect who saw him as nothing but a programmable monster.I think this speaks volumes to people in the world today, how we are so pushed to be specific things by the 'superior intellect' ones who know what's best, and there we are, constantly rebelling, fig [...]
Received this in the mail yesterday, excellent condition.Sat down and read it entirely in less than 45 minutes. Not an extremely long novel, as none of them really are it seems, but the story within the 100 or so pages is brutal and emotional. The twist at the end adds a nice touch. The extra flashback story from 2001 doesn't make sense, there's no context for it, and it really doesn't add much to the story. However, I do not regret my purchase, as I know I will read this story again in the futu [...]
Weapon X is one of the coolest concepts in the Marvel Universe. Anyone who reads comics should find interest in Logan's dark past. While this comic may not be what I expected, I fell in love with it as the story slowly moved on. At one point I thought it was going to be an inaccessable Grant Morisson type comic, but thankfully the story becomes more and more clear as you move along. Weapon X is possibly one of the darkest tales from Marvel, although it may not appear so at first glance. Bar [...]
The story and art are amazing, its a must. I just don’t remember it being colored so horrible, they really need to do a black white version because Barry Windsor Smith’s art isn’t done justice with this ugly coloring.
I originally had all these issues growing up and was drawn to it due to the iconic 1st cover of the storyline. I love how in telling a part of Logans origin many things still stay a mystery, and kind of reminds me of A Killing Joke. Got it at a great value, worth checking out.
